Arrival in Perth and transfer to your hotel.

DAY 2: PERTH

DAY 2: PERTH

The perfect introduction to Perth is the view of its iconic cityscape from one of the largest city centre parks in the world: the Kings Park and Botanical Garden.

A visit to the park between August and September comes with a profusion of colours, thanks to the extraordinary display of wildflowers from Western Australia throughout the park.

Head to Northbridge and the Perth Cultural Centre – home to the WA Art Gallery, WA Museum, State Library and Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts.

Take a walk through Fremantle‘s maze of streets, filled with Georgian and Victorian architecture, where local independent designers flaunt their eclectic styles.

Trace your tracks back to Perth stopping to see the most beautiful beaches on the coast such as Cottesloe and Scarborough Beach.

DAY 3: ROTTNEST ISLAND

DAY 3: ROTTNEST ISLAND

Today, take the ferry to Rottnest Island.

Rottnest Island is Western Australia’s true Western Australian island, with a casual atmosphere, picturesque scenery and some of the world’s most beautiful beaches and bays, just 19 kilometers off the coast of Fremantle. It is a special place for Western Australians and a popular destination for interstate and international visitors. The Mediterranean-style climate and the variety of flora and fauna on this island provide the backdrop for a special experience.

Enjoy the freedom and adventure of cycling around the island. You will enjoy breathtaking views of secluded bays and white sandy beaches and you will surely meet the adorable quokkas, the little marsupials that are known to be always smiling!

DAY 4: CERVANTES

DAY 4: CERVANTES

This morning, pick up your rental car.

Join the Indian Ocean Drive north of Perth and stop for a mini adventure in Lancelin. Go sandboarding or off-roading on the largest sand dunes in Western Australia, or climb to the top and admire the wide views of the Indian Ocean and coastal plains.

Head north to the lobster capital of Cervantes in time for lunch before heading to Nambung National Park and Pinnacles Desert.

Take a short detour to Lake Thetis along the way and you will encounter some of the oldest living fossils on Earth – stromatolites and strombolis.

When you reach Pinnacles Desert, you can choose to walk or drive through the curious limestone spires that have formed over millions of years.

A visit to the Pinnacles Desert Discovery Centre will explain its mysteries and introduce you to the history and habitats of the region.

Watch the moods and colours of the desert change as the sun sets over the Indian Ocean.

DAY 5: KALBARRI

DAY 5: KALBARRI

Half an hour from Cervantes is the popular resort of Jurien Bay, where you can meet some of Australia’s rarest and most playful marine life during a morning tour of the sea lion colony.

Head north stopping at Port Gregory to explore the dramatic coastal rock formations, 400 million-year-old gorges, the spectacular Hutt Lagoon (known as Pink Lake) before arriving in Kalbarri.

DAY 6: KALBARRI

DAY 6: KALBARRI

Day at disposal to explore the fantastic beaches of the coast and the Kalbarri National Park.

This is one of Western Australia’s most spectacular parks. It covers 186,000 hectares and is located on the Lower Murchison River. In season, you can enjoy a myriad of unique wildflowers or look for ancient traces of early life on earth, making it one of the best places to see them in the world. All roads within the park are suitable for two-wheel drive vehicles.

The park offers many outdoor activities, from swimming in the sea to canoeing, rafting and cruising on the Murchison River. Don’t miss the steep coastal formations such as Natural Bridge and Red Bluff.

DAY 7: MONKEY MIA

Head to Meanarra Hill for the superb views of Gantheaume Bay and enjoy the spectacular views of Kalbarri National Park and the Murchison River from Hawks Head. More than 800 species of wildflowers have been recorded in this park.

Arrival in Monkey Mia in time for dinner next to an ocean sunset. This exceptionally beautiful site, with calm and tranquil waters, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

DAY 8: MONKEY MIA

DAY 8: MONKEY MIA

In the morning, take a trip to the Monkey Mia coast, where every day you can enjoy magical and memorable close encounters with dolphins, the main attraction of the place.

Spend the rest of the morning swimming or exploring the bay in a kayak, or get an idea of dolphin biology and behavior at the Dolphin Information Centre.

You can meet wild dolphins in the bay on a wildlife cruise, where you can also spot sea turtles, manta rays, sharks, and dugongs.

Or join an Aboriginal cultural tour to see Shark Bay‘s unique flora and fauna through the eyes of its traditional owners and keepers – one of the oldest surviving cultures on Earth.

If you’re feeling more adventurous, join a safari at Francois Peron National Park and immerse yourself in nature.

DAY 9: CORAL BAY

DAY 9: CORAL BAY

It’s gonna be a long day’s travel today… but it’s worth it!

Crossing the Tropic of Capricorn, you’ll reach Coral Bay in three hours. From here, you’re just a short walk and a short swim from the coral gardens of Ningaloo Reef Marine Park – home to about 500 tropical fish species and 300 varieties of coral. A true paradise for diving and nature lovers!

DAY 10: CORAL BAY & NINGALOO REEF

Set off for a morning snorkel from the shore, or join a tour to explore the outer reef, where you’re likely to encounter dugongs, turtles, dolphins and pretty manta rays. Depending on the time of year, you can also interact with whale sharks.

You can choose to stay dry aboard a glass-bottom boat, take a guided snorkeling tour or rent a sea kayak.

DAY 11: CARNARVON

DAY 11: CARNARVON

Morning at leisure before heading south towards Carnarvon.

Carnarvon is a coastal town in Western Australia located at the mouth of the Gascoyne River on the Indian Ocean.

Stop at the local market with fresh local seafood and tropical fruit from the region’s plantations.

DAY 12: GERALDTON

DAY 12: GERALDTON

Continuing south, you will enter the Hamelin Pool marine nature reserve.
Make a stop at Shell Beach: a beach of over 100 km formed by tiny shells up to 10 metres deep. The water is shallow and clear. Continue to Shell Block Quarry, home to the world’s largest and oldest living fossils, the exceptional stromatolites.

Then continue along the coast to Geraldton.

DAY 13: PERTH

Heading south, you will visit Yanchep National Park for a picnic.

Its bush and wetlands are home to western grey kangaroos and a rich birdlife. Footpaths include a raised walkway through koala trees. One of the many caves in the park, Crystal Cave is an underground limestone cave with stalactites and stalagmites. Conversations in nearby Wangi Mia Meeting Place illuminate the culture of the Nyoongar natives.

Return to Perth in the afternoon.
