Itinerary day by day
DAY 1: ARRIVAL AT PORT VILA
Welcome to Port Vila in the Vanuatu Archipelago.
You will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel.
DAY 2: EFATE ISLAND
Today, the day will be discovering the Efate Island, which includes history, culture and fantastic vegetation.
You will watch ancestral dances, take fire walks in the village of Larofa, swim in the blue hole of “Blue Lagoon” and visit the village of Eton with its traditional houses.
You will discover the plants used in traditional medicine and stop at the waterfront in Port Havannah.
DAY 3: PORT VILA - TANNA
Free time for walking, mountain biking or canoeing. Your guide will take you on unique itineraries within private properties and on usual routes to meet the locals and discover the true roots of this place.
Transfer to Port Vila airport for your flight to Tanna. Arrival in Tanna, welcome and transfer to the hotel.
DAY 4: YASUR VOLCANO
Day of discovery of the must-see places of the island of Tanna in a 4×4 vehicle. Discover the ash plains, mud pools and watch a show of local dances and songs in the village located at the foot of the volcano.
A 15 minute walk will take you to the edge of the crater, where you will witness the awakening of the Yasur at nightfall (tour subject to volcano activity).
DAY 5: TANNA - PORT VILA
Morning at leisure to relax. Chance to visit a traditional village in the heart of the subtropical forest. It will be a real journey back in time: you will observe a lifestyle unchanged for centuries dominated by faith in costume. The villagers live off the culture and are dressed in traditional costumes. During the visit, men, women and children will show the usual dances.
In the early afternoon, transfer to Tanna airport for the flight to Port Vila. Upon arrival, you will be welcomed and transferred to the hotel.
DAY 6: AMBRYM
Transfer to the airport for your flight to Ambrym, where you will be met and transferred to the hotel in a 4×4 vehicle. The island of Ambrym is also called Black Island for its volcanic activities. The eastern part of the island overlooks the Pacific Ocean and the western part overlooks the Coral Sea.
DAY 7: BENBOW VOLCANO
Transfer to Port Vato in a 4×4 vehicle.
Start of the trek for the ascent of the Benbow volcano (1160 m). About 5 hours of trekking. Depending on the time of arrival at the camp, visit the crater of Mount Benbow in the afternoon or early in the morning.
This is the second active crater located in the eastern part of the ash plain (a vast plateau marking the right of passage of an ancient caldera). Meals cooked by the guides.
Overnight stay in a tent at Camp West.
DAY 8: CRAIG COVE
Today you will continue the discovery of the volcano with your guide and then walk back to Port Vato and transfer in 4×4 shared to Craig Cove.
DAY 9: CRAIG COVE
Departure with a guide for a cultural tour. Today you will discover the culture and traditions in the village. The dancers, dressed with pandan leaves and traditional Ambrym masks will introduce you to Roma dances, carving of the famous tam-tam, sand drawing and black magic.
DAY 10: ESPIRITU SANTO
Transfer to Craig Cove airport to fly to the island of Espiritu Santo, where you will be welcomed and transferred to the hotel. Espiritu Santo is the largest island of Vanuatu. It is known for its beaches, such as Champagne Beach and Lonnoc Beach, with coral reefs and clear, sheltered waters… a true paradise for divers.
DAY 11: ESPIRITU SANTO
Today’s day will include an excursion that combines the discovery of beautiful natural sites and relaxation.
You will visit the natural pool of Matevulu of an extraordinary blue and the beach of Lonoc. Here you will have lunch in a local restaurant and then relax on the magnificent white sandy Champagne Beach. You will continue to the village of Port Olry, a former Catholic mission where everyone speaks French. This fishing village has 3000 inhabitants who light up with coconut oil.
DAY 12: ESPIRITU SANTO
Day at leisure.
If you wish, as an option, you can go back in time to discover the remains of World War II. Your guide will tell you the history of Luganville during World War II.
Another option is to attend a water music demonstration in the village of Leweton. In this village, women have a unique tradition of creating music by hitting the surface of the water, thus reproducing the sounds of aquatic animals: “the music of water”. You will assist in the preparation of coconut dishes and the preparation of kava.
DAY 13: END OF SERVICES
Transfer to the airport of Espiritu Santo for flight to Port Villa with connection to your international destination.
