Welcome to Tasmania!

Upon arrival at Hobart airport, transfer to your hotel.

Hobart, Tasmania’s capital city, offers a blend of heritage and lifestyle with world-class activities and attractions nearby. In Hobart, explore the converted colonial warehouses of Salamanca and on Saturdays there’s Salamanca Market, Tasmania’s most visited attraction.

From here it’s a short walk to the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery or a short ferry ride takes you to MONA, one of the world’s largest private collections of art and antiquities.

You can also visit the Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary to meet a multitude of animals, including the Tasmanian devil.

This morning, pick up your car in Hobart city centre.

On the way to Strahan, you will drive through the Derwent Valley, see the beautiful Russell Falls, walk through the tall trees of Mt Field National Park and visit Lake St Clair, Australia’s deepest freshwater lake. Finally, explore the beautiful Franklin-Gordon Wild River National Park before heading to Strahan at the end of the day.

This morning, take the Gordon River Cruise for a peaceful experience in breathtaking natural surroundings. Guides will take you through points of interest, through the majestic Port Macquarie to Hells Gates and finally to the Gordon River.

In the unspoiled nature of Tasmania’s west coast, you can explore the quicksand of Henty Dunes, the Tarkine rainforest and walk to Montezuma Falls, Tasmania’s highest waterfall.

This morning you will drive to Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park, which is located at an altitude of about 950m and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The iconic Cradle Mountain is a place of exceptional natural beauty in the heart of the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area. From moss-covered ancient rainforests and deep river gorges to snow-covered mountain peaks, wild alpine moorlands and glacial lakes, the park is revered for its diverse and breath-taking landscapes.​

Cradle Mountain is synonymous with nature, wilderness and all things pristine. Wildlife is in abundance in this spectacular national park, giving opportunity to encounter Tasmanian devils, quolls, platypus, echidna, wombats and the highly inquisitive black currawong.

The Park offers a world-class system of walking tracks to explore that ranges from very short easy strolls to the legendary 5-6 day Overland Track​. You will find it hard to resist the lure of the well-formed tracks that lead you to surprising discoveries. Whichever way you look at it, the magic of Cradle Mountain is bound to captivate.

DAY 7: LAUNCESTON

DAY 7: LAUNCESTON

Today drive to Launceston with stops and walks along the way.

Launceston is Tasmania’s second major city and a vibrant hub for food and wine, culture and nature. In fact, the whole region is packed with city and country charm, gorgeous old towns, excellent food and wine and beautiful scenic highlights.

One of Australia’s oldest cities, Launceston has one of the best-preserved early cityscapes in Australia with its elegant Colonial and Victorian architecture and century-old parks.

Just a short walk from the city centre, Cataract Gorge is a slice of wilderness right in the heart of town and Launceston’s star natural attraction. There’s also plenty of culture on offer at art galleries, museums and design studios. The Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery is the largest regional gallery in Australia.

DAY 8: ST HELENS

DAY 8: ST HELENS

Today, head to the east coast and the beautiful Bay of Fires, which includes a magnificent coastline stretching 50 kilometers from Binalong Bay in the south to Eddystone Point in the north. Famous for its granite rocks covered with orange lichen, combined with powdery white sand and turquoise waters, this spectacular place will leave you breathless. Indeed, its magnificent beaches and secluded coves are a sight not to be missed and give Baie des Feux a reputation as one of the most pristine natural wonders in the world.

Head to St Helens at the end of the day to spend the night.

DAY 9: FREYCINET NATIONAL PARK

Take the most picturesque coastal road in Tasmania between St Helens and Bicheno. Tonight, you can choose to take part in the experience of seeing penguins.

You will then head to the iconic Freycinet National Park, best known for the stunning beauty of Wineglass Bay, with its crystal clear waters and winding white beach. But there’s so much more to discover in Freycinet! The diversity of the coastal landscape is spectacular, with rocky coves, sheltered bays and secluded beaches. Exploring the park, the Hazards offer breathtaking scenery. It is a granite mountain range that rises dramatically from sheltered turquoise bays. And despite being one of Tasmania’s most popular national parks, Freycinet National Park still offers the feeling of being away from it all.

This morning, take a wonderful cruise around the Freycinet Peninsula which will give you a view of the incredible granite cliffs, sea caves and hidden coves. Enjoy a delicious breakfast of Tasmanian delicacies. Your skipper will share with you his deep knowledge of the natural history, geology, ecosystems and heritage of the Freycinet Peninsula. Watch the abundance of seabirds, penguins, dolphins, seals and whales from the comfort of the Sky Lounge.

Free afternoon to enjoy the park or relax.

This morning, if you feel like it, take a 3-hour kayak trip to dive one last time in the wonderful environment of Freycinet.

Then take the road back to Hobart. On the way, make a stop in Port Arthur, for example, which offers a very interesting mix of nature and culture.
